Jemma Nicholls, Sling Swing in Plymouth
Hello! I’m Jemma, I am mum to two girls aged 4 and 1, and I run the Sling Swing classes in Plymouth.
After a rocky start carrying my eldest I finally found my groove and the right style of sling for me and have never looked back. We didn’t even get a pram when our youngest was born and I haven’t regretted it for a moment. While I’m not a trained dancer I’ve loved to dance since I was young and have experience of many different styles from my time in productions at school and with various amateur dramatic groups since then and with most recently with my morris side, Catseye Morris, based in Dobwalls. Dance of any kind makes me grin and gives me a lift, and I’m certain it will for you too.
I love the idea of Sling Swing because it’s something first and foremost for parents/caregivers to enjoy but which your baby and toddler can benefit from too. In my experience and from talking to other parents I know it can sometimes feel like it’s difficult to do anything for yourself, especially in the early days or if you don’t have a support network of family nearby to help. That’s why I feel that it’s so important that Sling Swing is for you, but your baby will love to come along for the ride.
